Energy Coal South Africa Bursaries

Becsa is offering bursaries to talented South African university and university of technology students. You must be studying in the following disciplines:

Mine surveying
Mining engineering
Industrial engineering
Extractive metallurgy
Electrical engineering
Geology (honours)
Chemical engineering

Students studying towards mechanical, mining and electrical engineering must further their studies to achieve Government Certificate of Competency and Mine Manager’s certificate respectively.

MANDELA RHODES BURSARIES

Bursary Amount - This bursary covers tuition and accommodation fees and is paid direct to the university. Bursary allowances that are prescribed books, travelling, living and other expenses are paid direct to the student, unless arranged otherwise.
Bursary Duration - the bursary is awarded for 1 or 2 years and renewed when results are submitted.

Who must apply - To offer educational opportunities to young Africans with scholastic, intellectual and leadership potential to study at suitable tertiary institutions in South Africa and to create a network of principled future leaders, with the capacity and will to advance themselves and their countries.

CONCOR BURSARIES

Murray & Roberts offers bursaries for top South African achievers who desire to be part of a world class organization with a global presence.

Bursaries are available for students studying towards a BSc, B Eng or B Tech qualifications in the fields of Engineering (civil; mechanical; industrial; electrical and mining), Quantity Surveying and Building/Construction Management.

Who Qualifies For Bursaries?


To qualify for a Bursary the student must:

Be a South African citizen or permanent resident;
be studying full-time towards a relevant degree and at a recognised South African university that is acceptable to Murray & Roberts;
able to provide proof of his/her current academic results and be in possession of a grade 12 exemption certificate with Maths and Science;
be accepted by the chosen university or university of technology for the specific course;
Students must maintain a minimum of 65% aggregate to be considered.

What Does This Bursary Cover?


Successful applicants enter into a bursary loan agreement with Murray & Roberts.

The benefits while studying full time include the following:

The company pays to the institution concerned, an amount of money equal to the annual registration fees, costs of tuition & examination fees.
The company pays for all prescribed books.
The company pays for university provided (residential) accommodation and food or the student may receive an equivalent monthly allowance to assist with his/her living expenses and this must be utilised to cover accommodation, food and traveling expenses. Apply here
